Various Christmas Cookie types, such as traditional and colorful new style cookies are a must in my house and I have to tell you Christmas is for sure not the same without the cookies.

You missed out!
In my first years in Goa, I didn't miss the familiar smell of Christmas spices and the comforting feeling of the season but over time I realized the value of it all together.
I grew up in a mountain village in the alps and snowflakes gliding down from heaven was so normal to me, that nowadays I am confused around Christmastime.
Palm trees and the absence of fragrant mulled wine aroma in the air is making me feel nostalgic.
So when we finally got a decent oven last year I ended up baking trays full of cookies.
The little Austrian enjoys baking cookies for the family and friends, or so I always intend, but my husband finishes them off before I have a chance to distribute anything.

This year I am better prepared, and I have already shared 3 new Christmas cookie recipes.
Of course more are planned but until then, I thought I would share my friend's favorites and add mine as well, so that you have a big choice.
I want to inspire everybody to make their own Christmas cookies at home.
The Christmas Cookies listed underneath can be baked for any occasion in the year so don't feel compelled to bake the cookies only during Advent.
Just because Christmas is coming up I would rather not make non Christians feel uncomfortable.
You know we celebrate other religious festivals as well such as Diwali or Eid, so this is not just for Christians!
Families with children have the most of fun baking cookies at this time of the year.
You know I have not always enjoyed cooking and baking in my youth but I would always help my mum cutting out and baking cookies as a young dumpling.
In fact we all did!
It's a reason to get together with the family and just to cut off the busy and crazy outside world.
Because of that I am always looking forward to bake my various cookies and I love coming up with new creations at the same time.
It helps me to relax, there I said it!
I bet you will find something in this Christmas Cookie Collection to inspire you and get going.
To get to the cookie recipes just click on the cookie name or the picture and you will be directed to the original recipes.
Have fun!
